The French trawler 'Jeanne Gougy' ran aground in a squall on November 3rd 1962. Teams of rescuers watched as she capsized and submerged beneath heavy seas. About 7 hours later 6 men were amazingly found alive in the wheelhouse and rescued by Breeches Buoy. 12 men including the skipper lost their lives. |
